01Create consistent medicine records
For each item, record a recognizable generic or brand name, strength, dosage form, pack size and unit. Where applicable, keep batch or lot and expiry data. Avoid treating a carton and a single strip as the same unit.
02Make stock movement traceable
Record opening quantities, purchases or receipts, sales or issues, returns and adjustments as distinct events. A physical count reconciles differences instead of silently overwriting history.
03Prioritize the items that matter
Set reorder points using typical demand and supplier lead time; review high-turnover and temperature-sensitive medicines more frequently. Verify real quantities before placing orders.
04Keep a simple weekly routine
Check low-stock items, investigate negative or unusual stock figures, count selected fast-moving items, and isolate damaged or expired packs from sellable inventory.
